This is Amy + Jacky from Pressure Cook Recipes. How was your week? What did you cook? We’ve been working hard to improve & fine tune our website (it’s now loading faster! Yay~) as well as updating our old recipes – adding better photos, clarifying the instructions, adding step by step photos, moving up the recipe card in the post…etc. Hope all this will help y’all have a better experience navigating the site & accessing the recipes + tips! :) As we were updating our old recipes, it brought back lots of memories of when we first started our site. The photo below may look like an ordinary chuck roast, but to Jacky & I, it means a lot more than that. This photo was taken back in 2016. At the time, we were already full-time recipe developers. Money was tight (to give you a better picture, we were making $17/month while this roast was $28!). I picked it up and put it back down. I picked it back up and put it down again. It was such a struggle! I did it 3 times before Jacky said "Whatever! Let's do this!" So, we picked it back up one last time, ran straight to the cashier, and never looked back. We were nervous using this piece of expensive meat for our experiments, but it was this chuck roast that led us to developing our Glorious Life-Changing Umami Pot Roast Recipe...and the rest is history. :) I know some of you may have had a tough 2019, please hang in there & don’t give up! It’s during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light. You are the reason we are able to continue to do what we love today. We truly appreciate you & we want You to know that - thank YOU! :)
