Easy to make from scratch with few ingredients & ready in 30 mins. What is Miso Soup? Miso Soup 味噌汁 is the comforting, homey, ultimate staple soup in Japanese cuisine. It’s believed that miso soup was born from the ichiju-issai style of serving meals in the Kamakura period 鎌倉時代 (1185 – 1333). This style of Japanese meals includes a bowl of rice, a bowl of miso soup, and a main side dish. Sharing a photo from our beautiful Kyoto trip with you. Can’t wait to visit Japan again! P.S.
