What is Asparagus?
Asparagus is an elegant spring vegetable that was first cultivated ~2,500 years ago in Greece.
We’re most familiar with Green Asparagus in North America. Did you know there are Purple Asparagus and White Asparagus too? Besides the color, they each have different flavors and nutrient value.
Most of us should try to fit asparagus into our diet as they’re loaded with nutrients! It’s a very good source of fiber, vitamins, antioxidants, high in anti-inflammatory nutrients, and extremely low in calories, fat, sodium.

Pressure Cook Asparagus: Pour 1 cup (250ml) cold water and place steamer rack in Instant Pot. Place 1lb (454g) asparagus on the steamer rack. Lock the lid. Pressure cook at High Pressure for 1 minute + Quick Release. Turn off the heat. Open the lid carefully.
Season & Serve Instant Pot Asparagus: Season with salt and black pepper. Then serve & enjoy the Instant Pot Asparagus!~ 🙂

Rinse the asparagus under cold tap water. Trim off the bottom (seemingly woody part) – an inch or two inches.
Pressure Cook Asparagus
Pour in 1 cup (250ml) cold water. Place steamer rack in Instant Pot.
Place 1 lb (454g) asparagus on the steamer rack.
Lock the lid.
Pressure Cooking Method: pressure cook at High Pressure for 1 minute
Turn off the heat and do a Quick Release.
Open the lid carefully.
Season & Serve Pressure Cooker Asparagus
Season with salt and black pepper.
*Pro Tip: You can flavor the asparagus with dressings or garnishes like fresh herbs, onion, garlic, fresh lemon/lime juice, balsamic vinegar, extra-virgin olive oil, grated Parmesan cheese, or melted butter.
The Pressure Cooker Asparagus is ready to serve! You can serve at room temperature, hot, or cold.
