Homemade Salsa Recipe (Pico de Gallo)

Make Easy Mexican Homemade Salsa Recipe (Pico de Gallo)! Excite your taste buds with this refreshing Salsa Fresca as a side dish, dip, or topping for tacos.

Ingredients

  • ~700 grams tomatoes (we used 4 (400g roma, 3 (200g) cocktail, and 8 (90g) grape tomatoes) , roughly diced
  • 1 (280g) red onion , finely diced
  • 3 garlic cloves , minced
  • 38 grams fresh cilantro , finely chopped
  • 1 (61g) jalapeno , finely diced
  • 80 grams juice from 1 - 2 fresh lime
  • Kosher Salt
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare Salsa Ingredients: Prepare the ingredients by cutting from driest to wettest.
  • Make Salsa Fresca: Add diced tomatoes, diced red onions, minced garlic, and chopped cilantro into a large mixing bowl. Mix well.

    Taste one piece of finely diced Jalapeno to determine the spiciness level. Add in the amount of Jalapeno based on your personal preference (we added roughly 3 tbsp). Mix well.

    Squeeze juice from 1 lime and mix well.

    Season with Kosher salt & fresh ground black pepper. Mix well.

    Taste and adjust accordingly. Make sure everything is balanced. Add in the juice from another lime if necessary.
  • Serve Salsa: Serve on top of tacos or as a side dish. It can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
